Revealing the Pathways to Parity

This year marks the 20th year of Grant Thornton reporting on the progress of women in senior management within the mid-market. 20 years ago, the IBR research found that just under one fifth of senior management positions in the global mid-market were held by women. This year, 33.5% of global senior management positions in the mid-market are held by women. 

Our 2024 report recognises the progress made and gives guidance on the pathways to parity; the configuration within businesses that facilitate greater levels of female participation in senior management positions.

While our research allows us to measure progress, it also enables us to understand what needs to change to accelerate it – to identify the business configurations that can drive change and provide actionable steps businesses can take.
